Kejriwal to Step Down as Delhi CM in 48 Hours

Arvind Kejriwal says, ” New Delhi CM face to be announced after I resign, after MLA meeting”

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced on Sunday that he will step down as the Chief Minister of Delhi within the next 48 hours. The party will choose a new leader to succeed him as CM, and the decision will be made after consultations within the party.

During his speech at the AAP headquarters, Arvind Kejriwal revealed that he will be resigning as Delhi CM. He also declared that he will push for early elections in Delhi and made a promise to himself and the people that he will not occupy the CM’s chair again until the public acknowledges his honesty and gives him a ‘certificate of honesty’.

Arvind Kejriwal is calling for early elections in Delhi, urging that the polls be held in November, coinciding with the elections in Maharashtra, rather than waiting until the scheduled date in February.

Arvind Kejriwal expressed confidence that with public support, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) can thwart any attempts by the BJP to undermine them. He attributed the party’s successes in Delhi to their commitment to honesty and transparency.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has declared that he will only resume his position as CM after the public has acknowledged his honesty and integrity. He also expressed his willingness to undergo a agnipariksha to prove his innocence, after he is released from jail.

Arvind Kejriwal declared that his commitment to honesty has intimidated those who prioritize power and wealth over integrity. Unlike them, he refused to engage in the corrupt cycle of using power to accumulate wealth and vice versa. Having cleared his name in the court of law, he now seeks vindication from the people of Delhi, and only after receiving their mandate, will he consider resuming the Chief Minister’s position.

Arvind Kejriwal drew parallels with India’s freedom struggle, citing Bhagat Singh’s experiences in British captivity. He highlighted the irony that even freedom fighters were allowed meetings with colleagues, whereas his own party member, Sandeep Pathak, was denied permission to visit him. During his time in Tihar, Kejriwal noted that he penned only one letter – to the Lieutenant Governor.

Arvind Kejriwal expressed optimism that his party colleagues, Satyendar Jain and Amanatullah Khan, who are currently incarcerated, will be released from jail soon.
