Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, surprised fans with unexpected news during a recent meet-and-greet event on his birthday, November 2. Known for his long-standing habit of smoking, which he has openly acknowledged on several occasions, the actor revealed that he has finally quit smoking.
“There’s a good thing – I’m not smoking anymore, guys,” Khan announced to the crowd, which erupted in cheers and applause. A fan shared a video of the moment on Twitter, and it quickly went viral. Khan mentioned that he still feels a bit breathless, despite quitting smoking, which he thought would improve. “Mujhe laga tha ki I will not feel so breathless, but abhi bhi feel kar raha hoon,” he was heard saying in the clip. “Inshallah, woh bhi theek ho jayega” (By God’s grace, that will also be fine), he concluded.
Khan has been open about his habits over the years, often joking about his love for smoking and coffee. In a 2011 interview, he humorously admitted to smoking around 100 cigarettes a day, drinking about 30 cups of coffee, and often forgetting to eat or drink water. “The less I take care of myself, the more I get taken care of,” he joked in a chat with India Today.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next action film, ‘King’, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The movie will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan, marking her debut alongside him. ‘King’ will see Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
